Steven Rees Receives Degree from St. Mary's College of Maryland

St. Mary's College of Maryland announces that Steven Rees of Baltimore, MD graduated magna cum laude with majors in biology and chemistry. Rees also earned a minor in neurosciences.

The ceremony, which took place on May 12, 2012, featured addresses from Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and President Joseph Urgo, who told the 442 graduating seniors to "attend to essentials" in life and to remember their roots. An honorary degree was conferred upon Rawlings-Blake. Student speeches were made by the Class of 2012 valedictorian and the St. Mary's "quintessential student."

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
