Kathleen Ramsey Named ITA Division III Scholar-Athlete

Kathleen Ramsey, of Dunkirk, MD, was named a Division III Scholar-Athlete by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association. Ramsey finished her career a four-time ITA Scholar-Athlete.

In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including first-year through senior year).

The St. Mary's College of Maryland men's and women's tennis teams enjoyed success this year, with both teams advancing to the CAC Semifinals. The men's team (17-4, 6-1 CAC) registered at least 10 wins for the fourth consecutive season, setting a record for the most league wins in program history. The women's team (15-7, 5-2 CAC) recorded their third 10-win season in four years, setting a school record for wins in a season, and also won their fifth straight Intercollegiate Tennis Association All-Academic Team award.

St. Mary's College of Maryland, designated the Maryland state honors college in 1992, is ranked one of the best public liberal arts schools in the nation by U.S. News & World Report. More than 2,000 students attend the college, nestled on the St. Mary's River in Southern Maryland.
